Application Information & Tours

General Enrollment Information

Current School Year (2017-2018)

We currently have spaces in the 2017-18 school year for well qualified Junior applicants. Please read the information on the Transfer Students information page, request a tour, and complete the application for the 2017-18 school year. Contact Kirsten Spall (kspall@natomascharter.org) to schedule a tour and obtain a copy of the 2017-2018 application.

 

Next School Year (2018-2019)

Natomas Charter School Virtual Learning Academy is a unique, online hybrid learning environment. Please make sure you have attended an Information Night or Family Tour and completed the VLA Family Survey before submitting your application. This helps in identifying if VLA is the right school for you.

 

Family Preview Day

If you would like to get a first-hand look at our program, Family Preview Day is scheduled for Tuesday, January 30th, 8:45-10:30 a.m. Start your visit by watching some PFAA student performances and getting information about the program from Matthew DeMeritt, the Performing and Fine Arts Academy Coordinator, and some of our fantastic students and teachers. After you have had an opportunity to chat and ask questions you will be able to tour our campus, visit classrooms, view student displays and meet with teachers. RSVP for Family Preview Day HERE.

 

Process for Completing the 2018-2019 Online Application

Please follow the steps below to submit your application.

  1. Click on this link to access the online application.

  2. Create an Infosnap account.

  3. Complete the online application and submit your information.

  4. Submit the following documents at the VLA Office in person between the hours of 1pm-3pm. Please complete this task within one week of submitting your application online. This process takes approximately 15 minutes but occurs on a first-come, first-served basis.

    1. Copy of Current Utility Bill - SMUD, PG&E, City of Sacramento, or equivalent if you live outside of Sacramento

    2. Copy of Immunization Record

    3. Copy of Birth Certificate or Passport

    4. Copy of Transcript for 10th-12th Grade Applicants

    5. Copy of Last Report Card for Entering 9th Graders

    6. Copy of IEP/504 (if applicable)

    7. Notarized Affidavit of Residency (if applicable)

  5. Complete the online NCS Application Survey (Optional).

Application Timelines

Please follow the dates below to ensure your application is submitted in a timely manner. Any applications or paperwork submitted after the deadlines will not be included in the lottery but will placed at the end of the waitlist.

  • Application Period: December 4, 2017 at 9am - February 9, 2018 at 4pm

  • Document Submission: All documents listed above must be submitted in person before February 15, 2018 at 4pm to be included in the lottery.

  • Lottery: March 9, 2018, 4:30pm

  • Lottery Results Posted: March 12, 2018 by 4pm

  • Acceptance Period: March 12, 2018 - March 23, 2018 

    • If offered a spot through the lottery families must accept or decline by March 23, 2018.
